MOLLY TOMA Peacefully, on September 6, 2012, Molly Toma passed away at the Deer Lodge Hospital with her sons at her side. Molly was born on December 4, 1922 in Winnipeg and spent her childhood in the north end of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents George and Amelia (Sterkell) and siblings Albert, Harold (Joyce), Elsie, Millie (George) and Joan. Molly worked in a fur shop as well as many different tasks at Canada Packers. Most of all, she was a stay at home Mom, looking after her family. Molly loved to crochet, sew, and knit, with many crafts still at home. Molly also babysat several neighbourhood children and slowly became known as Aunty Molly. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Emil. They had two sons, David and Robert. Molly and Emil celebrated their 50th and last anniversary together in 2003. Emil passed away that day. Family holidays, spent camping at Caddy Lake and West Hawk Lake, were a highlight for the Toma family. Molly never liked to miss a weekend at the lake. While there she acquired the name Grandma Toma to many children as well as adults. Molly loved to cook and share what she made with others. She truly had an unselfish heart for her family and extended family. Molly leaves to mourn her two sons, David, Robert (Nancy), her surviving sister Joan Sterkell, six nieces, one nephew as well as many great-nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Rehabilitation Centre for Children, 633 Wellington St., Winnipeg, MB R3M 0A8 may be made. A memorial service will take place on Friday, September 14, at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, at 2:00 p.m. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
