Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANZ-JOSEF DEWEY It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Franz-Josef Dewey of Sperling, Manitoba, on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the age of 72 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Josefine; his children Lucia Stuhldreier (Michael), Robert, Susanne Dewey Povoledo (Davide), Rudi (Shannon) and Tobias (Gina); his grandchildren Emily, Giuliana, Marcus, Dario, Matthew, Elena, Milo, Rachel, and Kaspar; and his siblings and family in Germany. He was predeceased by his parents Josef and Katharina and by his son Christian. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Carman, Manitoba. Prayers will be held at the church on Monday evening, September 10, at 8:00 p.m. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Carman Memorial Hospital for the excellent care they provided to Opa over the last few weeks. Thanks also to neighbours and friends for their caring and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Carman Palliative Care , P.O. Box 610, Carman, MB R0G 0J0. I met Mr. Dewey in Winnipeg over the years when he visited his daughters Lucia and Sue at St Paul's College. His soft-spokenness and friendly manner made me like him instantly. On a few occasions Lucia would phone her dad on my behalf for help with my CV (Lebenslauf) and my visa application in German. I was very grateful for his advice and readiness to help.
