METRO BIDOCHKA March 15, 1929 - September 6, 2012 After a brief illness, at the Arborg and District Health Centre, on September 6, 2012, Metro passed away at the age of 83. Metro was predeceased by his parents, Tekla and Peter, his wife Julia, his sister Pearl and his brothers John, Nick and Tony. He is survived by his brother Mike, and his sisters Jean, Katherine, Anna and Olga, also by many nieces and nephews and their families. Uncle Metro was born in Shorncliffe, MB on March 15, 1929 and lived there for most of his life. He married Julia Roberecki on August 15, 1958. As uncle Metro would tell us, she was the love of his life ! Metro was busy farming and Julia was teaching school. Unfortunately, Julia passed away far too soon on March 26, 1972. Uncle Metro was never quite the same again after losing his beloved Julia. Metro was a farmer, a mechanic and a carpenter to name a few things he kept busy with. He was never one to sit idly when there was work to be done. In 1998, Metro had a home built in Arborg and left the farm. We are not sure if he really was town folk in the beginning because we did see his little red truck going back and forth almost every day down Jacob line. The farm life was always in his heart. In fall 2010, Metro moved into the Arborg Personal Care Home. He had alot of friends there from nursing, dietary and housekeeping staff and was affectionately known as Uncle Metro to many of the staff. The family would like to thank each and every one of you for all the love and kindness shown to Metro and his family. We would also like to thank all the staff at the hospital where he spent the last days of his life. To the Doctors, and the nursing staff, and everyone else involved in his final days Thank you so much ! You were all great! We appreciate everything you did to try and help Metro. Once again, Julia and Metro are reunited what joy that must have been. Now they are together forever. Prayers will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel (Arborg). Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. also at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel (Arborg). Reverend Harry Chuckry will officiate. Interment will follow at Ledwyn Cemetery.
