JOHN MESTERY Dad passed peacefully in his sleep at home on September 7, 2012 at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife Eileen; children Kathy, John (Sandy), Chris (Ron); grandkids Kyle, Mike (Kristin), Stacey, Eric, Joel, Travis, Cory and Milana. John was predeceased by his daughter Dale in 2002. John was a loving man with a gentle manner who made us all laugh with his quick wit and original humour. His life's joy was his family. His pets were his cherished delight. He was a self-taught man who had broad interests and skills including golfing, bowling, watercolour painting, music and carpentry - many of which he has passed to children and grandchildren. He will be missed. A service to celebrate John's life will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St., West Kildonan at 7:30 p.m. Optional viewing will be at 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
