It is likely 40 years or more since I saw Miss Horwood. She and her mother were friends with my grandmother, Marion McCulloch and when I came to Winnipeg to visit as a child we would sometimes go upstairs to the 6th or 7th floor in Mandeville Towers to visit the Miss Horwood and her mother. I remember another time when Miss Horwood took us for a drive in her car, out to the white horse statue that was west on the the TransCanada. If you look north up the back alley behind Mandeville Towers, the first or second small garage on the left was where she kept her car. Funny the things you remember. I remember Miss Horwood as being kind to me and to my grandparents. I wish her well. - Posted by: Rob Stark (Friend) on: Apr 01, 2017

Shirley was a kind and loving person. She was always friendly towards us and when she needed help we were there to help when needed. She was always quite and went to church until her health started to fail. We will miss her. - Posted by: Wayne & EvaBell (Friend & landlord) on: Sep 17, 2012

Shirley was always willing to give her time to helping others. I will miss her phone calls letting me know the BPW St James group would be getting together for lunch at the Viscount. - Posted by: Pat Kraus (Friend) on: Sep 17, 2012
