My late father, George Koop was a longtime friend of Joe. I know their friendship went back to the earlier days of his dealership in Beausejour. One of my Dad's last outings was to go see Joe to say his good-byes. He thought very highly of Joe as a businessman and a friend. I know my Dad will be welcoming him home. My condolences on a great loss for the family. - Posted by: Joan (Koop) Hood () on: Oct 15, 2012

I just returned home from vacation to learn that my friend, JHR has passed away. I will miss his quick wit and pervasive smile. He was a rare breed and set an example for everyone he met. While we are deeply saddened, I feel that heaven will be rejoicing the fact that they have another angel. I will miss you! - Posted by: Mark Thiessen (friend and client relationship) on: Oct 09, 2012

Mr Rewicki was a respected business person and has passed his legacy of honesty, integrity and friendliness to his children. There is nary a time I walk into Eastern Sales and don't get greeted by a family member that has become a friend. Well done, Mr Rewicki, job well done, you have left a great legacy in your family. It was a pleasure meeting you many times.Rest in peace. - Posted by: Allison and Darrell Pauls (Customers ) on: Oct 07, 2012

My late father Donny Paulenko worked with and for Mr. Rewucki for 36 yrs. He looked up to Joe as a Boss, Mentor and most of all a guided friend. Joe's late son GERALD and former employee (Ian) coached me in hockey. Joe decided it would be an asset to have early morning practices at 6:00 am before school. It was tough but it taught us to work hard to achieve a goal. That year we won the championships! Best wishes to your family. Bye for now! - Posted by: Darcy Paulenko (Former boss/ friend) on: Sep 23, 2012

My wife and I extend our deepest sympathies and most sincere condolences to the Rewucki family. I just returned from out-of-town business and was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Rewucki. He was a true gentleman and will be sorely missed. I worked for Mr. R for a couple of years in the early 90’s, and when you worked for Mr. R you didn’t just have a boss- you also had a friend and a mentor. I think he truly believed that it was his responsibility to help all of his employees be better at what they did by sharing his decades of experience with them- all you had to do was choose to listen. I, like so many others, chose to listen and his sage advice from twenty years ago has, and continues to serve me well. Mr. R saw no value in getting angry or being upset. He showed how a calm and level-headed attitude, sprinkled with a little “JH” humour could always make any situation better. My favourite story was when a new, young salesman approached Mr. R in the showroom one morning and said, “I’m not making enough money, I’m gonna need a raise!” I’m sure any other employer would have been quick to inform the upstart that the only raise he’d be likely to get was at the end of his boot. Mr. R, however, calmly put an arm around the young man’s shoulder, led him to the window, pointed to all the cars in the lot and said, “See all those cars out there? Sell all of them and you’ll have more money than you know what to do with.” Priceless! And so typical of the man. If he were listening today, I’d say- Thank You. It was an honour to know you and may God bless you and welcome you into His house. Rest well and easy, sir. - Posted by: John & Terisa Gigiel (Past Employee) on: Sep 22, 2012

My deepest sympathy to the Rewucki Family in the loss of one of the kindest, most caring and supportive and least judgmental people I have known. Joe figured prominently in the Charney Family, having employed my three brothers and me over the years. When I attended teachers' college at the U of M, and when I returned a few years later to begin undergraduate studies, he gave me work. If that would be all there is to it, it would be enough. But there is much more to this story. Joe always found the time for us to have a visit in his office. He was interested in my cycling adventures and seemed to enjoy chatting about them. I loved his sense of humour and appreciated the warmth he exuded in his big beaming smiles. Many times when I returned to Winnipeg to visit my family, he provided a courtesy car for my use. There was never any hesitation on his part. I am honoured to have known Joe. I am a better person for having had him in my life. I will remember him always. - Posted by: Dr. Lili Hrabchak (former employee) on: Sep 21, 2012

Joe was just a great guy, he took care of all of our family in many ways. We were customers yet he made us lifelong friends over the 40 years I have known him and his family. When it came to supporting my daughters sports, he would insist upon a "double up" contribution and would always want to know how she was doing. He was genuine and we will miss him. - Posted by: Tom Warga (Life long friend) on: Sep 21, 2012

To all the Rewucki, Our deepest sympathies go out to you in losing your Dad, Grandfather, Brother, Sister and on. My family has known Mr. Rewucki since for me I was a little girl. My Dad Walter Simpovich had only the greatest respect and true warm friendship with Mr. Rewucki. Both being Gonor boys they had a lot of good times when young and my father would revel in the times of his youth spent in the company of Mr. Rewucki. Because of the families reputation for honesty and knowing how my Dad felt about him in turn my children and their mates made Eastern their choice to go to when wanting an honest business relationship. Having lost my son I can only imagine the pain Mr. Rewucki went through in losing his son and now his family are once again suffering a terrible loss of their precious Dad and Grandfather, May you take comfort in knowing all the love, memories and respect so many people had for Mr.Rewucki. - Posted by: Lynn (Simpovich) Newlin (Family friend of my Dad and Aunties) on: Sep 20, 2012

Mr. Rewucki ...Joe... I met you when I was just starting out at the Free Press (that was almost 20 yrs ago) it started out as a client relationship but as I visited we would always take 10 minutes to just talk about our personal lives, and that my friend made me think of you as a "friend" more than a client. We shared some tragedies over the last 20 yrs, along with many triumphs, I can honestly say that you were one of my favorite persons to talk to, always dressed very professionally, and always had the time of day for everyone. You are from the "old school" of treating someone how you would like to be treated and you never strayed from that, may you rest in peace for you leave this world a better place because you were in it. "Gentlemen Joe". There is so much that can be said about Joe. His sense of humor, his love for hockey & golf, his ability to make anyone from Royalty to us "common folk" comfortable in his presence. We always look forward to a visit with him. Our love, prayers & thoughts go out to the entire Rewucki family. - Posted by: Lyle & Cindy Sobering (Brother & Sister in law to Joyce Sobering (Joe's sister)) on: Sep 18, 2012
