Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • How much we enjoyed your children when Ike and I were involved in young peoples group and all the great music we listened to when we were at your house and the many activities of a large active group of teen agers. Absolutely the best and most rewarding time of our lives.Say hi to your children. I talk to Adeline and Dan quite often and also via email That was the most exciting group ever - Posted by: Heinrichs Helen (friend) on: Nov 25, 2012

  • My father, Peter Friesen, Frank Bergen, Jake Bergen and Mr. Gerbrandt formed a quartet many years ago and sang together...four friends blending their harmonies together as one. I remember Frank and Ella as well as the other gentlemen and their families visiting us in Swan River, MB as I was growing up and listening to the many stories they shared and listening to them sing. My father passed away 21 years ago but I have very fond memories of Frank and the rest of the guys. My condolances to Ella and the rest of his family. - Posted by: Wendy Friesen (Family Friend) on: Oct 04, 2012

  • Among the many things that come to mind when I think of Uncle Frank, his continuous endeavor to invent things and make life better and easier. I remember as a child how he talked about ways he would modify his VW to tow or make more room for his family. He continued that inventive inquisitiveness when I should him photos of the rice thresher I designed in Chad. Later as he managed Bethania Haus, he designed and built a huge star that he put on the roof of the apartment building. He seemed to be always "drebilling" (low German for thinking). - Posted by: Elmer Thiessen (nephew) on: Sep 30, 2012

  • Hearing Uncle Frank and his brother Jake sing together was always a special moment. Their voices blended so well, you couldn't tell who was singing which part. Both of their earthly voices are now silent, but have joined the mass choir in Heaven. Our condolences to Aunt Ella, Paul, Gloria, Anita and your families. May God's comfort surround you at this time of loss. - Posted by: Lil & George Goertzen (niece) on: Sep 30, 2012

  • I will never forget those great face burning beard rubs followed by a good rib tickle. I would laugh, wiggle free and then come back for more. - Posted by: Amanda Clemis (niece) on: Sep 29, 2012

  • Uncle Frank teased us as children. His eyes would twinkle and then he'd break out into a deep chuckle. - Posted by: Olive Friesen (niece) on: Sep 28, 2012
