ALICE THERESE ROY (nee ROBIDOUX) Alice Roy left this world peacefully on September 29, 2012 at De Salaberry Hospital in St. Pierre-Jolys, with loving family and care givers at her side. Born in March 1930, Alice was predeceased by her husband Philippe Roy in 2009, her parents Albert and Thérèse Robidoux, and her brother Edouard Robidoux. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Alice leaves to cherish her memory, her children Marc (Ginette), Suzanne, (Jean-Paul), Jean-Pierre (Mandy), Luc (Andrea) and Daniel, her grandchildren Mathieu, Jordan, Miranda, Alex, Michelle, and Jean-Luc; her sisters Madeleine (Otto) Kirzinger, Jeanne (Gérard) Therrien, Monique (David) Ting, and brothers Lionel (Denise), Omer (Edith), Joseph (Marcelle), René (Elaine), Fernand (Noella), and sisters-in-law Aline Robidoux and Diane Roy. She also leaves her aunts Alice Guichon and Bernadette Ruest, as well as a large clan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alice was a lifelong resident of St. Pierre-Jolys and devout member of the St. Pierre Parish. Beneath her unassuming cheerful personality hid a strong courageous woman who devoted her many talents to the happiness and health of others, particularly her family, parish and community. Peaceful, serene and a happy, cheerful homemaker, Alice loved to cook, garden, knit, travel, to appreciate nature and especially to spend time with family and friends. She was renowned for her huge beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, for welcoming people to share her home-cooking, baking, preserves and knitting, or just to lend an understanding ear. She also loved to sing, and participated in the Church and francophone community choirs for many decades. Despite her illness, Alice insisted on maintaining a high level of independence, often seen walking in town to do her errands and stopping to chat. She loved to chat, and greatly appreciated the attention her children, siblings, and friends bestowed on her. The family sincerely thanks all those who provided precious care in recent years. Special heartfelt thanks go to Dr. S. Migally, the St. Pierre Hospital and Manoir care givers, Drs J. Lipschitz and P. Daeninck of Winnipeg, and to l'Abbé A. Vo Van Hoa of St. Pierre Parish. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the De Salaberry District Health Foundation, C.P. 320, St-Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba ROA 1VO. Funeral Mass will be held on October 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., at the St. Pierre-Jolys R.C. Church. Née en 1930, Alice fut prédécédée par son époux, Philippe Roy en 2009. Mère, grand-mère, soeur et amie bien-aimée, Alice fut une femme affable, dévouée, pieuse et courageuse qui s'est consacrée au bien-être de sa famille, de sa paroisse et de sa communauté. Toujours forte, souriante et accueillante, elle se faisait un plaisir de partager un bon repas maison et une bonne jasette, ou de prêter une oreille attentive. Elle appréciait la nature; ses potagers et plates-bandes étaient renommés. Alice aimait aussi chanter, ce qu'elle fit pendant des décennies dans la chorale de l'église. Ceux qui le désirent peuvent exprimer leur sympathie en offrant un don commémoratif à la Fondation Centre Médico Social De Salaberry, C.P. 320, St-Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba. ROA 1VO.
