LORNA HALLETT (nee EWING) January 29, 1925 - September 5, 2012 Passed away peacefully with family at her side. Mom was predeceased by her husband Bruce Sr., sons Wayne and Craig, daughter Arlene, and grandchildren Darrell and Michelle. Left to mourn her passing are her children Bruce (Susan), Keith (Norma), Randy (Sandy), Diane, Lloyd, Billy (Sharron), Neal, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mom was a strong, hard-working lady who endured a lot over the years. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Mom loved to garden and was happy when all her canning was complete. When she was unable to plant her garden Lloyd and Neal would do it for her (under her supervision of course). Mom's favourite pastime was knitting, crocheting, making quilts, shopping and Bingo. She was also an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers (having hundreds of sets). She loved to travel to see her relatives and did so every chance she got. Everyone in the family has something she's made or one of her recipes as she was an awesome cook. The family would like to thank Home Care and Fisher Branch Personal Care Home for their care and compassion over the last few years. As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held on October 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fisherton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to War Amps of Canada, Fisher Branch Personal Care Home, or to a charity of one's choice.
