DORINE VOLLINGER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Dorine on October 4, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband Wilhelm, of 55 years and will be lovingly remembered by her four precious sons Roy, Richard, Rodger and Randall. Dorine was born in Harrogate, Yorkshire, England on August 26, 1928 to Marjorie and Harold Ibbotson. She met Wilhelm at a dance where she was a ballroom dance instructor. Soon after, they were married and came to Winnipeg where they started a family and built the family home. Dorine was a kind and caring individual. Her motivation to learn created a passion for reading, cooking and sewing. She worked at Fred Douglas Lodge where she received "The Employee of the Year" award. Many happy memories occurred at the family cottage in the Whiteshell, Mom's summer retreat. Through her love and respect of nature, she developed her hobbies of gardening, photography, bird watching and landscape painting. She was a member of the Forum Art Institute. At times, life was difficult but Dorine never complained. She faced new challenges through hard work, dedication and determination. Her courage and strength was an inspiration to those who knew her. By placing her family's needs above her own, she exemplified the true meaning of love. Special thank you to Health Sciences Centre SICU and step down units for their care and compassion. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorine's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 0R3. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
