EVELYN MORTON Evelyn Morton passed away on October 2, 2012 at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 90. She is survived by her daughter Joan Lang (Wayne), son Ken Preston (Shirley) and grandchildren, Marnie Branfireun and Tim Preston (Jody), her brother Allan Delaney (Gloria), sister-in-law Dulcie Preston, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Randy Preston, and her second husband Jim Morton, her sister Alice Clark Baxter and brother Bob Delaney. Evelyn was born in Winnipeg. She attended Luxton School and St. John's Tech. She married Randy in 1945. They moved to Moose Jaw, SK then Saskatoon, SK. When Randy passed away in 1952, she returned to Winnipeg. In 1963 she married Jim. She worked at Shell Canada, and Beaver Pump. Over the years she enjoyed curling, golfing, playing cards, doing crosswords and gardening. Many of her summers were spent at Royal Lake Resort. She also was a volunteer at Concordia Hospital. Thank you to the people at Kildonan House, Irene Baron Eden Centre, and Concordia Hospital N1N for the wonderful help and care they provided. As well thank you to Auntie Dulcie and Barry for helping so much with the gathering arrangements. Thank you Diane for all your help. A private family interment will be held at St. John's Cathedral. A come and go gathering will be held for family and close friends at #9 Legion, 920 Nairn Ave., (front door downstairs) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m on Tuesday, October 9. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
