Date of Passing: Oct 03, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUBY MABLEY (HEINE) (nee ONISIMCHUK) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Ruby, on October 3, 2012 at the Riverview Health Centre. Ruby is survived by son Tim (Susan) Mabley; daughter Darlene (Gary) Dokken; grand-children Cheryl, Lisa and William (Jessica); great-grandchildren Sarah, Amy and Katie and sister Anne Porosky, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ruby was born on August 30, 1931, in Plumas, Manitoba. She was the youngest of six children born to Anastasia and Jonas Onisimchuk. In later years Ruby moved to Kelwood, Manitoba, where she met and married Earle Mabley. For three years they operated a restaurant together in Plumas called Earle's Café, where they shared their love of cooking. Not long after, they moved to Winnipeg with the family they had started. It was there that she found another love, Eaton's, where she put in many years of service as a switchboard operator. She was later promoted to Chief Operator before retirement. She was proud to be a true Eatonian. Later in life, she married Hans, where the cherished name of Gramma Heine came to be. Ruby enjoyed many things, but her family was her life. A memorial reception will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg. "Forever loved, forever remembered" Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

I worked with Ruby for 13 years as a switchboard operator. We had many good times and many good laughs. Ruby was a great lady. - Posted by: Ina Adams (co-worker in Eatons) on: Oct 06, 2012
