OFELIA JUAN It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ofelia Valmonte Juan on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 72 years. Ofelia will be forever missed by her loving husband Francisco of 51 years, children Frank (Cheryl), Sheri Ann (Klint), and her granddoggies Dora, Diego, and Macy. Mom's world was forever changed on September 7, 2011, with the birth of her first grandchild Gage Francisco Nuntapreda. The first year of Gage's life was filled with many visits and frequent FaceTime chats with Grandma. Gage brought so much joy and happiness to her this last year. She will also be missed by her sisters Dr. Elisa Juan, Perfecta Ramos, and Trophy Castillio. She was predeceased by her sisters Maria Valmonte, Anna Robles, Eusebia David, Vicenta Relucio, her brother Bonifacio Valmonte, and parents Dominador and Felisa Valmonte. Ofelia was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and godmother to so many. She also leaves behind a large family, many close friends, kumares and kumpares in Winnipeg, Calgary, Cleveland, Los Angeles, and the Philippines. Mom was born on May 15, 1940, in San Nicolas, Gapan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, where she grew up and was educated as a teacher where she taught for many years. She later immigrated to Winnipeg in 1971, and gave up her profession to pursue her life-long dream of raising a family of her own. After 15 long years and many heartaches her dream finally came true with the birth of her son Frank, and seven years later her daughter Sheri Ann. Mom was a loving, patient, and caring woman that always put her family and friends first. She will be missed by many for the conversations she was always happy to have, and special holiday ham that she cooked every year. Lamay (viewing) will be held on Thursday, October 11 and Friday October 12 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 13 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Parish, 355 Andrews St. (corner of Mountain and Andrews). Rev. Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinki presiding. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens 4477 Main Street, with reception to follow. Pallbearers will be Monchito Faderon, Nanding Moises, Danny Vistro, Jhun de Jesus, Jay Reyes, and Eddie de Guzman. We would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre in the MICU and A4 ward for your kindness and compassion during these tough times. Don't worry Mom, we will take care of Dad. We will go on without you here and you will forever be in our hearts and minds. Your little Gagey will never forget you! We love you and miss you so very much. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
