CATHERINE J. WEITZEL (nee DEGRAAF) Peacefully, on Monday, October 8, 2012, at the Misericordia Health Centre. Cathy was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred, her only sibling Anne deGraaf and her parents Pieter and Adrianna deGraaf. She is survived by her children Paul, Peter and MaryJane and their families. Cathy was proud of her Dutch heritage. She was born March 29, 1921, and grew up in East Kildonan, the daughter of market gardeners. She and Fred were married in 1942, and had a full life together that lasted 52 years. They enjoyed travel and that made for great memories in later years. Time spent at the cabin at Betula Lake was always treasured. Special thanks to all the staff at Riverview Health Centre, where she spent many months, for all their kindness and care. Also, to the staff at the Misericordia Health Centre where she spent her last few weeks - thank you for all your attention and caring attitude. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date.
