Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKARL HEINZ SCHLOSSER July 23, 1938 - October 7, 2012 With his loving wife Hilda by his side, Karl Schlosser peacefully passed away October 7, 2012 after a lengthy battle with COPD at the St. Boniface Hospital. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Hilda Schlosser, son Karl Schlosser (Rita), daughters Marina Skovrlj (Slavko) and Deanna Chatterton-Betker (David), grandchildren Jersi and Keili Schlosser, Rozeanna and Daniel Skovlj and Ryan Chatterton. Karl was born in Frankfurt, Germany on July 23, 1938 to Karl Emil Schlosser and Margaret Magdalena Schlosser where he lived until he immigrated to Canada in May 1960. Karl worked his entire life as a painter, and perfected his craft. He had a love for animals, gardening and most of all his children and grandchildren. Deep down Karl was a big kid himself, which is why he could related to them so well. He had very simple needs. You would never hear him complain about what he had and what he didn't have. He was truly most happy just being around people. He had an infectious personality and could always make you smile. There was always a story for him to tell, rarely a serious one, but none the less a story. As his battle with COPD began, he never lost his spirit. He met every challenge and obstacle put in front of him head on with such courage, bravery, and dignity. Karl fought heroically right until the end, not for himself but for his family so we wouldn't feel all the hurt we feel today. His last words spoken were to his wife I love you . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Manitoba Lung Association. Close personal friends may join the family to pay their respects on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street.
