Mr. Wertepny's passing was brought to my attention by an ex-Winnipeger (like myself) and I thought I'd take the liberty of offering my condolences to his family. Some time ago I did some genealogical research into my, as well as my wife's family, but had virtually no success in tracing the Wertepny roots to Ukraine or Poland at times when the former was occupied by whoever had the bigger gun. In the process I discovered a number of Wertepny`s in the US who landed in Ellis Island in the 1800`s. - Posted by: Thomas Mike Wertepny (son of Mike, deceased) (Unknown, other than similarity of name.) on: Oct 18, 2012

I never met Jozef, I work with Derek and with all the good attributes that Derek has I can only assume that his dad was a good of man as he is. Again my thoughts and prayers go out to Derek and his family. Dale - Posted by: Dale Brummitt (co-worker) on: Oct 17, 2012
