RAYMOND HENRY COOK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Cook on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Ray was predeceased by his daughter Rita Nault, his brother Billy, his mother Margaret and his father Francis. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, Ruth, his seven children; Steve (Doreen), Sharmaine (Jim), Joanne (Bob), Clayton (Corey), Edna (Bryan), Alice (John), and Warren (Kim), twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Ray was born in 1931 and lived most of his life in Brooklands. He worked at various jobs in his youth including Abe Block Sons and Massey Harris. From 1956-1991 he worked for Manitoba Department of Highways as a mechanic. But his biggest career challenge was keeping his offsprings' vehicles operating. Ray enjoyed taking his family on many camping trips in the camper he built for his large family. Dad also enjoyed Sunday Drives which could end up anywhere in Manitoba. As a result dad's knowledge of highways and back roads of Manitoba were unparalleled. Many thanks to the staff of 3 East Riverview Health Centre. Private family funeral to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or Riverview Health Centre Fdn, 1 Morely Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 9Z9. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Raymond was my patient when I did my clinical at RHC. I remember how Ray always talks about his trip with his family. He is so proud of his family and even told me how he wanted to spend his last days with them. Even though I only got to know him for a couple of weeks, I can say that Ray was a good man. I offer my condolences and sympathy to his loved ones. Thank you for letting me take care of Ray. My thoughts and prayers go with all the family of Mr. Cook. - Posted by: katrin Param (student nurse) on: Nov 01, 2012
