Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD HARRISON July 15, 1944 - October 17, 2012 It is with great sadness that his family announces the passing of Leonard Harrison, after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 68 years. Leonard leaves behind his loving wife Jean, his children Curtis (Eunice), Lois (Sonny), daughter-in-law Cindy and grandsons Benjamin and Matthew. Leonard also leaves behind his brothers Ottis (Lorraine), Robert, Phillip, sisters Marie (Ken), Alice (Gail) and Kay, as well as many extended family and friends. Three years ago Leonard retired from Motor Coach Industries after 42 years of service. He spent his retirement doing what he loved, working on his farm in Teulon, Manitoba. Leonard had a work ethic few could match and spent many content hours cutting wood, gardening or doing other jobs on his farm. His knowledge and abilities far exceeded his formal education. If a part or piece was not available he simply made what was needed to get the job done. Leonard shared his abilities and work ethic with anyone who needed help. Regardless of the job and without hesitation, if he knew you needed help he was there. He lived simply and had all he needed, a family he loved and who loved him and a little place where he could work, build and create. We will deeply miss him and although not a man of large stature, the legacy he leaves behind is larger than life. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. A special thanks to Dr. Pillay and the nursing staff at Hunter Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion during Leonard's illness. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

I am saddened to hear of Len's passing. Len had no equal in his work ethic (Al James a close second) and could accomplish more tasks in his work day than any other employee in Department #36. Len always gave 110% and being his immediate supervisor for a number of years I was always in awe of his ability. Len was the best and well respected by all who knew him. R.I.P. friend.
