DONALD BAIRD PATERSON June 26, 1950 - October 18, 2012 Peacefully, in the early hours of the morning, Don could no longer fight the effects of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Don's strength and jovial personality will live on forever in the memories of his wife Susan, daughters Kelley (Patrick), Melanie (Ian) and Shelley (Nolan). He loved spending time with his grandchildren Myah, Nathaniel, Lucas, Hendrix and looked forward to the birth of his fifth grandchild in January. He touched the lives of sister Gail (Mitch), sister-in-law Linda (Ian) and many nieces and nephews. After 30 years working for the City of Winnipeg, Don retired on December 25, 2004, after which Don and Susan found their piece of paradise in Paradise Village. They met many new friends, and enjoyed their sanctuary. Don enjoyed creating projects for himself, and liked to keep busy puttering in the yard. The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and staff who were involved in keeping Don comfortable. Don was on the Lung Transplant list and wanted everyone to know the importance of being an organ donor. Signupforlife.ca Cremation has taken place. As per Don's wishes, there will be no formal service. *We will miss you always* Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030

  • I was a young girl working at pioneer area in the canteen. Don used to stop by and chat and get a coffee. I remember Don as a kind, quiet and handsome man. I was so sad to read the paper today that he passed. It brought tears to my eyes. Rest in peace Don you will forver be part of my past memories. - Posted by: Janice Harding (fellow co-worker) on: Oct 20, 2012
