ROBERTA MAE SADONICK (nee CLARK) Following a brief illness, it is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mae Sadonick on October 15, 2012, at the Victoria Hospital. Mae will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Susan (Al) and Wendy (George); her grandchildren Megan (Mike), Cara, Holly, Alyssa, Emma, Will, Joshua, Caleb and Jude; her great-grandchildren Jacob, Benny and Sophie. Mae had a long history of volunteering in her community; helping with girl's baseball at Glenwood Community Club, coaching YBC Bowling, volunteering at the Children's Hospital book sales, she spent countless hours working for Special Olympics Manitoba. She was President of the 60 Chesterfield Tenants Group for 15 years and co-ordinated a variety of activities for the residents, including working in the apartment kitchen five days a week. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Auntie Mae, will be greatly missed. She would call Judy when she heard about a Special Olympic event. She did many jobs but her most visible was the lady with the 'taxi chits' The smile on her face is how I will remember her. Our hearts go out to her family. - Posted by: Bob Bull (Partner of Judy, who is her 2nd cousin ) on: Oct 26, 2012

  • Dear Susan, Wendy and families, Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Moms are so very special - their memories will be cherished always. Love Bob and Jan Sadler, Rene, Melanie and Danielle - Posted by: Jan Sadler (St Mark's Church) on: Oct 23, 2012

  • I had the privilege of meeting Mae through her many hours of volunteering with Special Olympics. She was always so pleasant and had such a quick wit, I always knew there would be laughs in store when I saw Mae at an event. She will be sorely missed, not only by her family, but also by the many organizations that she blessed with her time and grace. - Posted by: Laurel Cumming (Acquaintance through volunteering) on: Oct 22, 2012

  • My heart goes out to Susan, Wendy and families. It's so hard when our Mothers leave us. Mae will be missed; especially at the St Marks dinners & I'll always remember her helpful critiques of our bowling delivery. She leaves behind a lot of good memories. - Posted by: Karen Genthon (friend) on: Oct 21, 2012

  • My deepest condolences go out to Susan, Wendy and families. I knew and was very fond of "Mrs. Sadonick" in my early teens and as a young adult having had "Mr. Sadonick" as a baseball coach and Susan as a teammate. "Mrs. Sadonick" never missed a game and was one of our biggest fans along with my Mother Freda. The two of them became good friends and scorekeepers. Perhaps the two of them are sitting having a coffee together talking about those "good old days". (We lost Mom last year in much the same way). I understand the pain of losing a wonderful mother & friend. Regrettably I can not attend the service but will be there in spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. Sincerely, Mona Champagne - Posted by: Mona Champagne (Friend) on: Oct 20, 2012
