Just wanted to put my heartfelt Condolences in written tribute to Rudy. I knew him from a very young age of about 5 when we were neighbors starting in 1969. His son Ron and I played many hours together in my sandbox. I was intrigued at this young age to see Rudy had a Ski-Doo. From about age 8-16 Rudy kept the boys into snowmobiling and I spent many winter weekends at the Abt's home on Buckingham Rd when we'd go ski-doing and play ball hockey. In summer it was dirt biking in the back field and on the old tracks. Rudy never showed it much but he was a kind and caring man. Always there to fix the ski-doo or dirt bike and in the latter years, it was tending to Ron's and mine old cars...the 69 Dart and 65 Malibu. Rudy had rebuilt a few transmissions and carburetors for me back in the day. He was a fabulous mechanic indeed! He was humble too, he'd never accept any monetary gratuity from me for his services. He just loved what he did especially to help us young fellers out! Still appreciating who he was and the difference he made in my life even this many years later. - Posted by: Greg Carson (Neighbor & Friend of Ron's) on: Apr 23, 2018

To Rolf and Ron and families my Condolences. I remember both your parents so well, they were part of the close-knit Charleswood community when you were kids. Your Dad always stopped for a chat with my late husband, Bev Jones (usually about soccer or cars!),when they met in a store or elswhere. I hope your memories of the "good old days" will comfort you. Sincerely, Jan Jones - Posted by: Jan Jones (Friend) on: Oct 27, 2012

My brother- Dieter Lauber- was friends with Rudi and I still remember how hard Rudi tried to get us to dance. He was so graceful . Herdith (Lauber) Flaig - Posted by: Herdith Flaig () on: Oct 20, 2012
