GRACE VENESIA It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Grace Venesia on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 77 years. Grace is survived by her son Dino (Brenda), grandchildren Alex and Morgan; daughter Linda, granddaughter Danielle; her sister Paula; sister-in-law Rose Venesia; step-granddaughters Ashley and Kelsey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Corrado in 2000. Born in Italy, Grace immigrated to Canada in 1955 and married Corrado in 1958. She took great satisfaction being a homemaker, mother, and wife. Her talents in the kitchen were appreciated and enjoyed by many. Grace was employed at the Municipal Hospitals where she made many friends, retiring in 1998. In recent years, she enjoyed travelling to Alberta and Europe to visit her family and friends. In compliance with Grace's wishes a private interment will take place at a later date. Special thanks to Dr. Olson, Dr. Slutchuck, and the Victoria General Hospital 4th floor staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3, (204) 982-2021. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.

  • Grace was a long time family friend. I remember, when I was a young child, she and her husband would come to visit and always bring my brother George and I candy. She had a lovely smile and was so warm and friendly.
