RODOLFO (RODY) COMIA
Date of Passing: Oct 19, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRODOLFO (RODY) COMIA With his family by his side, Rodolfo (Rody) Comia passed away at Seven Oaks General Hospital on Friday, October 19, 2012. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years, Soledad (Choleng) his children Rommel (Mary Grace, Ella) Raquel Alcantara (Jerry, Jerrod, Brayden, Raina), Rowena Lavarias (Sonny, Hailey, Jake, Maddie) Roldan (Jackie, Megan, Mason, Mallory, Jordan, Jayden, Colton), sister Nene, brother Renato and numerous nieces and nephews. Rody was predeceased by his parents and siblings Tonying, Benny, Norma, Minying, Sony and Edel. Rody was born in Talisay, Batangas Philippines. He married the love of his life Choleng in 1964, and immigrated to Canada in 1974. He was employed at Dominion Tanners and Cadorath Plating. Rody became the first president (governor) of Batangas Association of Manitoba. Dad was a jack-of-all-trades and master of all. He was an accomplished cook, baker, carpenter, mechanic and story-teller. But above all, he was a loving husband and father and an adoring Papa. We are so grateful for the years that he enjoyed retirement and travelled with Mom, tended his garden, spent time with his grandchildren, and socialized with his Gacibo friends. We would like to thank the dialysis staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Viewing (Lamay) will be held on Thursday, and Friday, October 25 and 26 at Glen Eden, 4477 Main St., from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph's Church, 355 Andrews St, on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Glen Eden and reception immediately after. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Dad was open with his love and affection and instilled in us the importance of family and faith. He leaves an enormous void in our lives and we miss him deeply. He was too well-loved to ever be forgotten. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111

Tito Rody was my father's friend in Talisay, Batangas. I met him and Tita Choleng here in Winnipeg 7 years ago. He was so kind. I will surely miss him especially his stories. Tita Choleng, Raquel and the rest of the family. My sincerest condolences on the passing of Tito Rudy. I have nothing but fond memories of him. I remember when Raquel and I were still in school and the numerous times I'd come over to your house to just hang out. Tito Rudy was always so kind and always had a smile for me. I share in your pain and loss. May you find the love and care of friends and family, albeit mere, a consolation in your time of grief. - Posted by: Lorraine Francisco Solomon (friend of Raquel ) on: Oct 22, 2012
