Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORBERT TOUCHETTE It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa and friend, Norbert (Bert) Touchette, on October 22, 2012. Left to cherish his memory are his children Mike (Cheryl), Pat, Valerie (Ed) and Giselle (Corey). He had a close, special bond with his grandson Vincent and granddaughter Chantel, who will both miss him tremendously. Also his seven other grandchildren, four great-grandsons, brother Homer (Marge) Wilfred, sisters Pat and Josephine. He was predeceased by his loving wife Marie Jean in 1987. Dad was born in Cadillac, Saskatchewan March 4, 1927 to parents Joseph and Lillian. Dad grew up on the farm in Shaunovan, Saskatchewan. He loved horses and cowboys. He joined the military in 1951 where he had a successful career as a Service Vehicle Technician. He served 25 years of service then took a position with Department of National Defence where he worked until 1990. He was a gifted and well respected mechanic. Dad traveled the world with his time in the military. He had been stationed in Germany, Churchill and also peace keeping in Egypt. Dad was a member of Royal Canadian Legion #100 Charleswood Branch. He was also a member of R.E.M.E. and the Wild Life Federation. What Dad loved most, was his family and friends. He was always supportive and proud. He was a strong man. He passed on his strength and caring traits. We will miss your great sense of humour and kindness. His love of animals will not be forgotten, and he will be reunited with his little buddy Ernie (pug). We would like to thank Dr. B. Ritchie and the wonderful nurses at the Victoria hospital 2nd floor for all their support and kindness to dad and their support to the family. Pallbearers: Ryan, Shawn and Kelly Green, Mike Touchette Jr., Ed Krost and Corey Budde. Honorary Pallbearer Vince Budde. Prayers will be held on October 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Blvd. Funeral mass will be held on October 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Blvd. A reception to celebrate Bert's life will follow at the Charleswood Legion #100 (downstairs) at 6003 Roblin Blvd. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
