CARLOS M. FURTADO 1954 - 2012 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, family member and friend, Carlos Manuel Furtado on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Carlos was known for his generosity, compassion, his love for children and the great outdoors. His bright eyes, radiant smile, and sense of humour will be dearly missed. Carlos is predeceased by his father Leo. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Tess and Kristina, partner Nelia, mother Maria, sister Fatima, and nieces Morgane and Eloise as well as his nephew Francois "Fanch". Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Public viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. Donation may be made in Carlos' memory to CancerCare Manitoba. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

I would trade in all the bacon & egg, blueberry pancakes & camping trips to tulabi falls just to hear your laugh, see your huge smile & feel the love radiate through those big blue eyes..one more time. My brother Greg knew Carlos before me and said Carlos could build stands for my Big Dish satellite company Superview. He always did a great job no matter the rush he always came thru, and I always enjoyed his jovial, caring and happy attitude. His personality was a treasure and I always enjoyed doing business with him, and more so his friendly disposition and the love he showed for people. I just found out when I searched his name to see if he could do some work for me...even this late... Carlos, our hearts are still in shock that you are gone. You were just like an angel on earth, seriously where were your wings! The one who cuts the grass on the blvd for 4 houses on each side. Thanks for the outdoor water spout you put in for us with your own material and wanted no money but we forced you to take it. Your genuine love for all you met. Tess, I will always remember your Dad as being the protective and loving father to you. I remember how every kid in the neighbourhood was friends with your Dad, and how much people just LOVED being around him. We will never forget your Dad. Carlos... A buddy for life the first time I met him. A rare kind of funny that I can only describe as truly hilarious! I've never seen such wizardry in construction. I mean... the guy could cut complex angles with a circular saw, no safety guard IN MID AIR workbench not required for this guy! I saw you in your last few days Carlos.
