HAROLD JOHN (JACK) SMITH On, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 Harold John (Jack) Smith passed away peacefully at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg at age 98. Remaining to forever cherish his memory is his wife Patricia (nee Davis). He is also survived by his nephews Greg, Howard and Lorne Smith of British Columbia. Jack was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the eldest of three sons of George Smith and his wife Florence Litchfield (both deceased). He was predeceased by his brothers Albert (Bert) and Edgar. Jack served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. Prior to going overseas he met and married Patricia Davis in 1943. Before his retirement, Jack spent his working career as an electrician at C.P.R. Weston Shops. In accordance with Jack's wishes, cremation has already taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice.
