ALFRED ARTHUR DENNY July 3, 1923 - October 30, 2012 Peacefully on October 30, 2012 after a brief illness, it is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Alfred (Alf) Denny at the age of 89 years. He will be lovingly remembered by Jean, his wife of 62 years, children Bruce (Kathy) David (Charlene), Grandchildren Ryan (Abbey), Scott (Nicole), Jessica (Lance), Chantelle (Chad), Mark, Jordan, Steven, and Danielle, and great- grandchildren Zachary, Jeremy, Gavin, and Easton. Alf was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Ethel, Sisters Ethel, Hilda, Violet and Granddaughter Kara (Tiddles as Dad used to call her). Born and raised in St. Vital, Alf lived his life as a resident of Winnipeg except for time served when he was with the Royal Canadian Air Force in England. During his working years, Alf was employed as a Boilermaker with the Canadian National Railway in Transcona, a job to which he dedicated 42 years of his life too. He was also active in many sports throughout his life; however his most enjoyment came from watching his children and grandchildren participate in their sports. Family would like to express deepest thanks to Dr. Abdulhreman and Joanne, along with the doctors, nurses and aides on 5B and 6E at St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion while Dad was staying there. A Celebration of his Life will be held on November 14, 2012 at Green Acres Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and family will hold a private interment.
