Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE DOERKSEN God chose to call Marie Doerksen home to heaven on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Steinbach. She was born on February 13, 1913 in Meade County, Kansas to Isaac and Mary Cornelsen and spent her early life in Kansas. Marie was predeceased by her husband John P. Doerksen in 1994 and her youngest daughter, Irene in 2009. She is survived by her children, Evelyn Doerksen, Carl (Wilma) Doerksen, Verna Doerksen, son-in-law Dennis (Shirley) Plett and their families including seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Helen Cornelsen, sisters-in-law Katherine Doerksen and Sibyl Cornelsen. The celebration of life service will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Blumenort Cemetery. Donations in memory of Marie Doerksen may be made to HavenGroup Foundation, 177 Woodhaven Ave. Steinbach, MB R5G 1K7.
