GEORGE ALBERT MCKEEVER November 11, 1923 - November 2, 2012 Born in Vancouver, son of George Albert McKeever of Listowel, ON and Margaret Mary McQuaid of Ballynamore, Co. Leitrim. Predeceased by his wife Grace (Axford) in June 2000 and his older sister Thelma Melick (2005). Survived by his son George (Janice Templeman) of Ottawa, and daughter Jean of Toronto, granddaughters Jocelyn of Ottawa and Lua of Calgary as well as great-grandchildren Aidan and Sarah. Also survived by nephew and nieces Ron, Maureen and Diane in Alberta; Lorraine in Maryland and Elizabeth in Washington. George was raised near Edmonton, and was working in Jasper when he met and married Grace. They moved to Winnipeg in 1956. George made his career with Canadian National Railways, and later VIA Rail. He enjoyed curling, bridge and camping with his family. He was a member of the Jasper Park Masonic Lodge, A.O.T.S., the Conservative party, and served as an Assistant Cub Leader. There will be a service at Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 8. A private interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff of Riverview Health Centre, 2 West, for their care this last year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
