Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY ANN UNGER God chose to call Dorothy Ann Unger home to Heaven on Saturday, November 3, 2012 with her children by her side. Mom was 77 years old. She is survived by her daughter Phyllis of Winnipeg, MB, her son Peter and wife Val of Kleefeld, MB, her grandchildren: Brenden (Amanda), Deven (Sabrina), Trevor and Kiera Unger. She was predeceased by her loving husband John Unger, her brother Art Toews and her parents Julius and Katherine Toews. Dorothy was born June 1, 1935 in Winnipeg. Her parents were Julius and Katherine Toews of Homewood, MB and she was a big sister to Art Toews. Mom started her career as a nurse's aide in Winnipeg until she was married. She married John P. Unger on June 3, 1961 and they were blessed with two children, Phyllis and Peter. As a stay-at-home Mom, she enjoyed gardening, canning and baking. There was always something freshly made when her kids came home from school. Christmas was very important to Mom as the freezer was full of Christmas baking and the tree was full of gifts. She enjoyed the company of many friends who were dear to her and was a member of the Niakwa Bowling League. Mom was very blessed in all areas of her life and she loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She will be greatly missed by all who love her. Till we meet again. Because of our faith in our Heavenly Fatherwe will meet again. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Heritage Cemetery in Steinbach. We knew Dorothy for a short few weeks. She was a sweet person we were fortunate to meet while her stay at the St. Boniface Hospital. There are no words that can take away the sadness that Dorothy's family feels, but may it help to know that we share your loss at this sad and difficult time. Our Deepest Sympathy...
