JOHN LANE It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John on November 5, 2012, at the age of 61. Remaining to cherish John's memory are brothers Allan (Sam) and Glenn (Anita), niece Glenna Babe along with daughters G'Annah and Ge'Naye, nephew Jason the Moe, and niece Brianne. John has many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Predeceased are parents Elsie and Maxwell, and recently sister Sandra. Uncle John, aka Trapper or Minnow, was best known for his love of hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors. Over the past few years, he was teaching his nephew Jason how to be that same marksman, but with better aim. He loved spending time with family and was always willing to take you out to A W for a hamburger and chips, or some ice cream for a treat. Not a week could go by without him playing the lotto. He didn't have much, but what he did have he was willing to give to you if you needed it. Cremation and a private family tribute have taken place. Rest comfortably Uncle John; say hello to everyone there for us. Love you. Bye Bye for now. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Not a day would go by and you wouldn't call to check in on me and the girls. You just wanted to see how our day was and if they were behaving. Sometimes you would call just to call...to let us know that you loved us and will be calling again later. No big deal you always said...u were and always will be a big deal to us. - Posted by: GLENNA (niece) on: Nov 15, 2012

There are special times spent with Minnow that I will always remember. Sitting on his shoulders as he rode his Triumph across Assiniboine Park Bridge, horse back riding at Sunshine at -30 degrees, watching John do somersaults over the camp fire at Blue Berry Hill and his help painting my house on Hampton St. many years ago. Always had a good time when John was around! Condolences to the Lane family. - Posted by: Jim McLellan (Friend) on: Nov 13, 2012

And I will list them for you as I did before you got a comp.. One special memory we shared together was towing your boat when an idiot driver cut me off so I payed the idiot back you always brought that up. lol. And same time, we got to Lockport only to discover you forgot the boat gas can...lol. My Condolences to Family - Posted by: Dave Whitehead (Friend) on: Nov 12, 2012

I'll miss the frequent phone calls starting "Hi Mike it's Min" and then the silence waiting for me to begin the conversation. I have many great memories of times we spent together on the water fishing ( he was a trolling man he said ) or in the bush hunting deer or chickens ( grouse). He was always ready to lend a hand of go for a coffee . Johnny worked and played equally with enthusiasm . Rest in Peace Johnny . - Posted by: Mike Sproule (Friend) on: Nov 12, 2012

I will miss the Sunday morning phone calls John asking me all types of question about which team should I bet on, who had the better players, I just hope that one of those calls helped you out. John was a great brother always there when you needed him never would say no. I will miss you brother but I know that you are in better hands with mom and dad and Sandy there to watch over you. Rest in peace John. - Posted by: GLENN (Brother) on: Nov 11, 2012
