JOHN UHRYNIUK June 6, 1955 November 7, 2012 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our brother John Uhryniuk, aged 57, after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. Left to mourn his passing are his brother Vince Uhryniuk (Gail), sister Barb Beakhouse (Gord), cherished nieces Crystal (Justin) and Hailee. John was predeceased by his parents Florence and Michael. An accomplished musician by the age of ten, John spent his childhood in Transcona where he began playing the saxophone at age eight. Shortly before his 13th birthday he suffered a cerebral aneurysm and although he required a wheelchair, this did not hamper his desire not his ability to play the sax in the Family Band with his parents and brother. It was with pure pleasure that he entertained many people with his love of the saxophone throughout the years up until his passing. Special thanks to the staff at Tache Centre (2DE) for making John feel as though you were his second family' for the past six years, to Auntie Bea for your many visits that John looked forward to, to Roman for your kindness and friendship; and to Dr. Balko for your compassion throughout this difficult time. Memorial service Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, with private family interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to Foundation Actionmarguerite c/o 2DE at Tache Centre.

I grew up listening to John play his saxophone. It was the most beautiful thing ever. John was the best at blowing instruments of all sorts. I will miss him at family dinners when we'd sneak off back and he'd play his saxophone for me and even let me have a blow at it. I will forever miss my cousin John - Posted by: Quentin Budd (Distant Cousin) on: Feb 14, 2014
