ANGELINE J. KRUSHEL (LEIDING) November 6, 1943 November 6, 2012 It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce the passing of Angeline J. Krushel, wife, mother and grandmother on her 69th birthday, in the arms of her family at the Riverview Health Centre. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Herb of 51 years, her daughter Debbie (children Michael and Brandon), son Dwayne and his wife Heather (children Ethan and Samuel), son Darren and his wife Cathy (child Jessica); mother Tina Leiding; sister Cindy Fillion. Angeline was predeceased by her father Jake E. Leiding in 1992, mother-in-law Susan Krushel in 1987, and father-in-law Herman Krushel in 2009. Angie was born in Winkler, MB, the eldest of two daughters; she grew up attending school in Winkler and met the love of her life Herb Krushel from Morden in 1959, and married in 1961. Angie and Herb moved to Winnipeg in 1963 where they stayed and raised their children. Angie was a devoted Christian and homemaker who took great pride in making a happy, comfortable home that was always full of love. She adored and loved her grandchildren greatly and loved her dog Joey, caring for his every need. She loved taking care of her flowers. Angie and Herb celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 7, 2011, the month before she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Mom put up a courageous year-long battle against ovarian cancer, doing everything she could to stay with her family as long as possible, and even though she was extremely weak she completed her knitting so all three of her children's families could have a beautiful afghan that will become family heirlooms to cherish. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at CancerCare Manitoba, Women's Hospital, St. Boniface Hospital and Riverview Health Centre. Funeral Services will held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Inkster. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be sons Dwayne and Darren Krushel, grandsons Michael and Brandon Brown, Ethan and Samuel Krushel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Angie's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. 204-586-8044

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Dear uncle Herb, I love you very much. Words cannot express how much you mean to me. You are the patriarch of our family. You are so kind, loving and caring. It is very hard for me to express how sad I am for auntie Angie's passing. My best memory of auntie Angie is when she taught me how to make thanksgiving gravy. I don't think she or I knew she was showing me how to make it when she did. I think I was 15 or 16 at the time. I walked into the kitchen when she was making the gravy for thanksgiving 1988 or so. But for some reason it is so vivid in my memory. The roaster she cooked the turkey in. On top of the stove, on an element. Bringing the heat up. Add some flour, wisk. Thought I'd share. I also remember how you'd always help her put on her coat like a gentleman. I don't know if you ever knew this, but I'd always tell my mom, "Linda", I want a husband just like uncle Herb when I grow up. It's been a year since auntie Angie passed, I just wanted to express how sad I was, how sad I was for you, You had a love that was rare, special, unique. Not many people get to experience that. I love you uncle Herb, auntie Angie. You are my God parents. You're very special to me. You can come vist me in Vancouver any time I love you guys very much God bless you Brandie - Posted by: Brandie chubinski (Niece) on: Nov 28, 2013

  • Herb, it was with great sadness that I learned of your wife's passing today. While I never met her, your mentions of her and your wonderful family never failed to impress me. Our working relationship through Hignell Printing is one I really treasure, so I just wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you. All the best, Judy Powell - Posted by: Judy Powell () on: Nov 13, 2012
