FRANK LEWIS MCKAY It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Frank on November 11, 2012 at the age of 65. He bravely fought a hard battle against cancer with courage, strength and dignity. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife and soul mate, Brenda McKay. Frank is survived by his adoring parents Allison and Lewis McKay, sister Diane Paroby, son Corey (Holly), stepsons Paul (Stacie) and Richard (Bridget). Also mourning his loss are his nephews Jory and Warren Paroby as well as many other family members and close friends. To his precious grandchildren (Ethan, Dylan, Brooke, Abbie, Austin and Carson), Papa will always hold his special time with each of you close to his heart especially those moments he shared with some of you on Lake of the Woods fishing. He was so proud as he shared in their excitement as they reeled in their catch. Frank was born and raised in Kenora, Ontario and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 18 securing employment with CP Rail as an Industrial Mechanic. Frank was a loyal employee of the railway for 36 years deciding to retire in 2001. He was not one to sit still so he found himself finding employment as a driver for The Donut House and more recently as a driver for Northway Aviation at St. Andrew's Airport. Frank's kind heart captured numerous long-lasting friendships with co-workers. The summer of 2003 was the beginning of Frank and Brenda's shared passion for the outdoors specifically their seasonal spot at Pye's Landing. Summers could not come fast enough so they could launch their boat onto the open water of Lake of the Woods. They spent countless hours from sunrise to sunset casting their lines in their secret hotspots often capturing prize winning master anglers. Frank looked forward to sharing his fishing stories and techniques while sitting with friends around a campfire. He also enjoyed his annual visits at the lake with his good friends Ron and Nancy from Yellowknife. Their spot at Pye's Landing also provided opportunity for Frank to be close to his parents and sister who continue to reside in Kenora. Frank was a lifelong member at West Kildonan Curling Club. He was the skip of his team and enjoyed many years of bonspiels and companionships made within the club. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Seftel and his team of doctors. Special thanks to Tamara and GD-6 nursing staff at Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion. Frank was also grateful to Audra, Teresa and Sandy for their exceptional home support. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave. In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours. In all the world, there is no love for you like mine. 204-586-8044
