HAZEL BALDOCK (PAGE)
Date of Passing: Nov 10, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL BALDOCK (nee PAGE) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother and Nana on Saturday, November 10, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 2002, her brother Norman, and sister Margaret. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Cheryl, her son Kerry and wife Lori and her dearly loved grandchildren Bryan and Lindsay, her sisters Mickey, Vera and sister-in-law Vera, all of England; and sisters-in-law Bert, Edie and Marie in British Columbia. Mum was born in London, England but grew up in Egypt and India as her father was in the British army. Mum loved India and always had great stories about living there. After returning to England she met Frank during the Second World War. They became engaged in England. Dad returned home after the war ended and Mum followed later making the trip from England in a Lancaster Bomber. They were married in Winnipeg and later moved to the family farm in Balmoral, where they worked, lived and raised their family. Mum loved to cook for her family, bake pies for harvest, play cards, watch the birds, go fishing with friends, and spend time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her many trips back to England to visit her family. In keeping with Mum's wishes, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made in care of the Victoria Church, Box 117, Balmoral, Manitoba, R0C 0H0. We’re both really sorry to hear the sad news about Aunt Hazel. We remember with fondness the fun & laughter we had when she and Uncle Frank stayed with us during one of their visits to the UK. We also remember the kindness, generosity & hospitality that was extended to us by Aunt Hazel and all her family when we stayed on the farm all those years ago. Aunt Hazel’s recollections of life in India & Egypt were always interesting and fascinating. The things that she saw and the experiences that she had in those parts of the world had a direct bearing on the plight of the little people being a subject that was close to her heart. Aunt Hazel would seize with great vigour any opportunities to give support for their cause and this undoubtedly gave her the fighting spirit that kept her going for so long. We will miss Aunt Hazel and we trust that the current grief that is being felt by all those who knew her will eventually turn into admiration & lasting memories of a truly adventurous lady who by her own admission, left a little piece of her behind “across the pond”. - Posted by: Geoff & Joan Burns (Nephew & Wife) on: Nov 20, 2012

Auntie Hazel will be greatly missed by all of us here in England. We may have been far apart in miles distance, but very close as a family. We have many happy memories of her visits here to England. Part of you will be with us always. - Posted by: Roger Burns (Nephew) on: Nov 14, 2012

I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's death in today's paper. It was always a joy to see Hazel and have a little chat--enjoyed knowing her. She was such a kind and caring person but still had that sense of humour and you could always share a chuckle. My sincere condolences, Cheryl, Kerry, Lori and family. - Posted by: Shirley Jahns Mulvey () on: Nov 13, 2012
