Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAO OLIVEIRA TAVARES September 20, 1936 - November 11, 2012 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather on November 11, 2012 at the age of 76. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 48 years, Maria Odilia, his children Yvonne (Colin and granddaughter Katherine), John and Daisy (Brent). Joao is also survived by his four sisters and three brothers and their families in Canada and Portugal who loved him dearly. Joao was born in the Acores. After his military service, he immigrated to Canada. In 1964, he married Maria and she joined him in Canada to begin their new life together. Joao had a very strong work ethic and worked to the time of his death. He was a generous, kind and forgiving man and made many lasting friendships. He will always be remembered as a happy and loving husband, father and grandfather. The family wishes to thank everyone for their enormous support and well wishes during this difficult time. Prayers will be said on Friday, November 16 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street North. Entombment to follow at a later date. 204-586-8044

It's been a little over a week since I seen Mr. Tavares. For anyone who doesn't know him. I wanna bear witness that John was a Great Man. In the community I work at he was one of our biggest sponsors, he helped the kids in the neighborhood a lot. May God bless his soul. Rest in Peace my friend I owe you one.
