PATRICIA HOLLINGSHEAD-LEONARD It is with deep sadness that family and close friends announce the sudden passing of Patricia Hollingshead-Leonard. She was predeceased by her beloved son Kennith. Pat's energy touched many in the Anola area, and all who knew her. Pat's enjoyment and support of others was well known throughout the community. Her work with Ron Schuler of the Progressive Conservative Party is one example. In her career Pat worked as a bus driver for the Sunrise School Division for over 30 years where she was vice-president of the bus drivers' union and workplace health and safety representative; hair salon owner and stylist; and taxi and limo driver. Lover of country life, her caring nature was also experienced by wildlife and strays who took up residence with this animal whisperer'. Pat was a woman who unfailingly did what she believed was right, and stood by her convictions. Respecting Pat's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Donations can be made in Pat's name to the St. Anne Hospital Fund or Heart and Stroke Foundation. Pat, you will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by all who knew you; especially by your sisters and brothers, Margaret, Shirley, Bill, Steven, John; in-laws, Greg, Doreen and Jack; nieces, Julia and Alex; and very close friends. Rest in peace with Kennith, we love you. Seasons Funeral Chapel - Oakbank

I have known Pat for maybe 40 years. She was always there with a smile, and comfoting words when needed. She was a wonderful person to have known, and made a huge impact on everyone she happened to meet. I know in my heart you are happily reunited with your son. Say hi to grandma if you see her on your journey. - Posted by: Darlene (friend) on: Dec 01, 2012

It's hard to find where to begin. She was the stongest woman I ever met, never afraid. I'll miss her straight forward advice, her amazing cooking, and her nurturing spirit. She took the time to help everyone as much as she could, while putting herself last. She was a second mother to me. From sitting me down and telling me about the horrors of childbirth in a family restauraunt to telling me I was just too pale for that lipstick, her opinions were noted and really meant something to me. I only hope to be half of the woman she was as I grow old. RIP Aunty Pat, you'll always be loved, missed, and respected. Give Cousin Kennith a hug for me! xoxo - Posted by: Julia Genik (niece) on: Nov 21, 2012

We lived east of Anola and had the pleasure of having Pat as our son's bus driver for two years. We were sorry to hear of the loss. I am sure your kids will miss you on the bus, RIP Pat. - Posted by: Linda () on: Nov 20, 2012

Pat I first met you in the basement of Settlers when you cut my hair for the first time, which you have done for the past 30 some odd years. I will miss our time of having a little drink of Gibsons and our talks after my haircut. Especially the talk of the three musketeers as you liked to call them Kenneth, Lance and Kevin. I do hope that Kenneth was waiting at the gates as a wonderful grown man as you always knew he would be. You will be missed by all who knew you and all that have been touched by you. May you find peace and happiness. Your Friend Richard - Posted by: Richard (Friend) on: Nov 19, 2012

We have known Pat for more than 10 years, both as an employee and friend. She has become a large part of our family as we spent every Sunday having "Family Dinners" together. She will be greatly missed by our family of friends and employees and many passengers who have had the pleasure to ride with her. "Nana Pat" was very important in our household, especially to Shayanna. Love you Nana Pat. - Posted by: Parent Family (Steinbach Taxi) (Friends) on: Nov 19, 2012

I grew up in Anola and was fortunate to be on her bus and know her. I moved to Anola to raise my own family and my children were lucky enough to have her as a bus driver. She went above and beyond as a bus driver for my children, she was much more. Pat you will be deeply missed in our family, may you rest in peace with Kennith. - Posted by: Karen (Friend) on: Nov 18, 2012

My name is Tamara Taras. I grew up in Anola, and I spent many yeas of my childhood riding safely to school on Pat's bus. I will always remember Pats smile and laughter. When I was in school at Christmas time my grandmother Violet Ward, would make homemade fudge for us kids to give to our bus driver and all of our teachers at school. I will never forget how Pat used to beg for that homemade fudge the whole year round, but i always told her she had had to wait for Christmas time! I am very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful woman, but know her memory will live on in the hearts of so many she touched. - Posted by: Tamara Taras (Friend) on: Nov 17, 2012
