Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Would have been so nice to have had spent more time with you, and be able to finally fill in some of the questions I've had, and sort out whatever past gaps that have seemingly kept us and the family from reconnecting. Hope all is well and it would mean the world to me that we make plans to get to visit each other or at least be able to hear from my Grandma Kristina - Posted by: Courtney Van Buren (Granddaughter ) on: Dec 11, 2020

  • I haven't had the chance to see any of my dads side of the family since I was younger. Now I'm 19 and decided that I'd like to get to know some of my family so I looked up my grandfathers name and it brought me here. It's really hard knowing that if I had tried to reach out sooner I might have had the chance to get to know you. My condolences to all that were close to him. - Posted by: Justin Van Buren (Grandson ) on: Jul 17, 2013

  • Mr. Van Buren was a great guy to his sons' friends. We were always welcome in his home and he always engaged us and treated us like his own friends. I miss the times I had the chance to laugh with him, which was just about every time I saw him. - Posted by: Aaron Dubois (Friend) on: Jun 16, 2013

  • My condolences to the family. I have many happy memories of the time I worked at the restaurant. Van Buran's was the place teenagers went to at that time. Thank you for the many happy memories. - Posted by: Shirley Lowden (Friend) on: Nov 22, 2012

  • Brian was a good friend and neighbour in La Salle, our condolences to his family - Posted by: Allan & Sylvia Swayze (friend) on: Nov 19, 2012

  • My condolences to the Van Buren Family, especially JoAnn, whom I played with for many years as we grew up. It was such fun going into the restaurant as the boys worked. Brian and his brothers treated us well, cooking chips and hamburgers for us. Earlier, my brother, Eric, worked at the restaurant and has many good memories of that time. - Posted by: Diane (Mainman) Boyd (Friend and neighbour of JoAnn when they had the old restaurant on Pembina Hwy. ) on: Nov 19, 2012

  • Had a lot of good times working for Brian. Both on and off the job. Had a lot of laughs at the Salsbury House On Stafford. Usually late at night when we should have been home sleeping. Sorry I could never find out where he had moved to. - Posted by: Don Allbright (Worked for Van Buren's @ service station) on: Nov 17, 2012
