JUDY NOWELL OSBORNE (nee ILLCHUK) 1950 - 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judy on the evening of November 21, 2012. She passed peacefully with her family at her side. Judy is survived by her father Bill Illchuk, her husband Phil, her daughter Becky and husband Tash and their children Phelan and Amelia. She was predeceased by her mother Irene Illcuk and her stepmother Mary Dushnisky. Judy grew up in Winnipeg and attended John M. King School, Isbister School and Gordon Bell High School. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Winnipeg General Hospital in 1970. She nursed for the next 25 years on psychiatric and medical wards at the General Hospital, Victoria Hospital and the Misericordia Hospital. Judy was a kind and compassionate person who will be missed deeply by her family and friends. Judy had many interests including reading, gardening and tennis. She loved to travel overseas including many trips to New Zealand to visit Phil's family. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time at the cottage at Victoria Beach with family and friends. We would like to thank all the Health Care Professionals who cared for Judy during her long illness both at Health Sciences Centre and at St. Boniface Hospital. We extend special thanks to Dr. Ralph Wong and Dr. Joel Gringrich at St. Boniface CancerCare for their tireless efforts to combat Judy's illness, and to Dr. John Wong and the whole team at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit who looked after Judy during the final days of her illness with care and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, with reception to follow. Flowers are graciously declined. If friends and family so desire, donations may be made in Judy's name to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca

I attended Gordon Bell High School with Judy and there were 4 of us who went on into nursing at the Winnipeg General Hospital. Judy was always enthusiastic and happy when caring for her patients. My sympathies to her family and friends. - Posted by: Iona Schmidtke (Kohanik) (friend and classmate) on: Dec 26, 2012

I shared Judy's experiences in training to be a RN from the years 1967 to 1970 at what was then the Winnipeg General Hospital. I see from this photo that Judy still had the same beautiful smile which lit up her whole face, as she had in her late teens and early twenties. My thoughts and condolences to her loved ones at this sad time. - Posted by: Catherine (Stewart) Lee (classmate at WGH SON , graduating 1970) on: Dec 04, 2012
