CLAYTON KEEFE 1919 - 2012 On Monday, November 19, 2012 our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather Clayton Keefe passed peacefully from our lives. Leaving the legacy of a life well-lived, of much wisdom shared and impressive resourcefulness, of an abiding respect for others and of irrefutable dignity, Clayton will be deeply missed by his children: Catherine Slater (Mike), Michael (Barbara), David (Leslie), and Alanna; grandchildren, Michael John, David, and Jennifer Slater, Jennifer and Jonathan Keefe, Tim, Paul and Andy Keefe, Simon Imbrogno and Samuel Gerrard; and great-grandchildren, Tegan, Sarah, and Benjamin. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Keefe (March 6, 2007); his son Thomas Edward (March 5, 1980); his sister, Phyllis Cain and brother, James Keefe. Born and raised in Banff, AB, Clayton married his high school sweetheart in 1946. Together they lived a life rich with experience as Clayton's Royal Canadian Air Force career took him first overseas during the Second World War and across Canada as they raised their family. After dedicating 32 years to serving his country, Clayton went on to a 10-year career with Parks Branch of the Manitoba Government. Upon retirement in 1984, Clayton and Mary settled in Parkesville, BC, for 17 years, returning to Winnipeg in 2002. Clayton will be forever remembered for his bright intellect, love of people, conversation, and subtle but always playful humour. Dad's predictable tough love approach was never far from a tender heart and extended hand; he earned the respect of many and returned it equally. His strong conviction, temperate approach, and enduring spirit are qualities we all admired and will deeply miss. According to Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place with interment to follow in the Banff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Clayton may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200 - 6, Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6, or the Salvation Army Memorial Fund, Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R2.
