JOHN NISKALA July 22, 1911 - November 18, 2012 John Niskala passed away peacefully at home on November 18 at the age of 101. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Alice, his children, Karen (Sean), Gary (Donna), Virginia (Paul), Marilyn (Bob), Jeff, and nine grandchildren and one great- grandchild. As well, Kenny (Sue) who considered Dad a second father. John is also remembered by his sister Ellie, brothers Henry and Paul, many relatives and friends. John was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Alexis. Dad always had a strong work ethic working mostly as a carpenter. He was always generous with his time and knowledge. He will be missed. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be planned later in the spring. Rest in Peace Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stephen's Anglican Church or CancerCare. I still have the highchair that my favourite Uncle Johnny bought me the first year I was born. He and Alice were always there in EK for me over the years. I have fond memories of all the great stories ---back in Dance, Carpenter, Emo, Straw Lake and the list goes on. The in-operable silver bullet he carried in his body all those many years. What a grand fellow for all of us to fondly remember. Rest in peace & catch up with all your family & friends that have gone ahead of you.
