SANDRA JOYCE MILLER (nee AHLGREN) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother and Grandmother, Sandra Miller, on November 23, 2012 at St. Boniface Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Cheryl (Darryl Sul), Christine (Tracy Sawchuk), Cindy (Douglas Toledo); grandchildren Kaylee, Keira, Brayden, and Liam; brother Ted Ahlgren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert, of over 48 years, her parents, brother Clifford, and sister Winnie. Mom was born January 20, 1941 and raised in East Kildonan. She enjoyed various activities including bowling and most importantly, figure skating, which was her greatest passion. After meeting Bob, the love of her life, together they raised three lovely daughters, traveled extensively, and spent many happy winters in Alamo, Texas. She will be sadly missed by many friends and family members. Pallbearers will be Ted Ahlgren, Derek Giles, Bill Miller, Tom Armstrong, Brian Ahlgren, and Norm Stapon. Honorary pallbearers are: Doreen Reinhardt, Sophie Nimchuk, Gail Stapon, Lil Linges, Doris Trowbridge, Irene Hodgson, Elaine Hardinge, Mabel Armstrong, Douglas Toledo, and Carlos Morales. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. • How devasting for you three girls to lose both parents in such a short time. I feel such a regret that we missed seeing your mom when we went to St. B in Sept. and Oct. She was taking some treatment and wasn't expected back for a few hours. We will have many happy memories of our fun times at West Hawk Lake. I know how much Sandra enjoyed our get togethers. I'm in Arizona and can't be there at the funeral except in spirit. My sincere sympathies. - Posted by: Dear Cheryl, Christine, and Tracy (One of the "Well Seasoned Gals" and a good friend of Sandra's. ) on: Nov 27, 2012

  • I had the honor to have met Mrs. Sandra Miller. She loved dancing and was a big fan of our band The Renaissance Rockers here in Texas. One day, two years ago, when I was seeing patients in my office, my secretary called me and said "You have a long distance call from Canada. Sandra Miller is calling. She doesn't want to disturb you but she said to tell you that you should do the song "Toes" with your band". We started doing it and it was a hit. Mrs. Miller had the opportunity to listen to it and she felt happy to hear me tell this story to the audience and that we were doing it in her honor. Mrs. Miller loved her husband Robert who passed on also this year. They are both happy together in a place where there is no pain, only love. Mrs. Miller, you enriched our lives. We will love you and remember you always - Posted by: Carlos E. Morales, MD (Friend) on: Nov 27, 2012
