MARIE LUCIENNE GENEVIEVE RICHARDSON May 25, 1920 - November 21, 2012 With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, Marie Lucienne Genevieve Richardson, at Riverview Health Centre on November 21, 2012, at the age of 92 years. Lucy was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Richardson; sons: Paul and Robert; parents: Gustave and Seraphine (Bellerive) Miron; brothers: Armand, Maurice, and Jean-Marie; sisters: Rose-Aimee, Rita, Adrienne (Audrey), Yvette, and Annette. She is lovingly survived by sons: Roger and Lloyd (Yvonne); grandchildren: Jeffrey, Nathan, and Janie. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews will also cherish her memory. Lucy was born in St. Agathe, MB, the last survivor of nine children. During the Second World War she worked at the Keewatin Box Factory and later at a funeral parlor, helping people who had passed away by preparing them for viewing by their loved ones. When Bob came home from the war in 1945, he and Lucy were married, and in May, 1946, Paul was born, the first of four sons. Over the years she stayed at home and cared for Bob, and their four boys. When Bob was a salesman for Nu-Life Cookware, she helped with his demonstrations by preparing meals using the cookware. As a result, Bob made a great success of his job! After son Robert was born, she concentrated more on caring for her family and making a home for them. As she got older and Bob had his stroke, her health began to decline and she was accepted at Riverview in 2006 to be with Bob. After Bob died, she continued to decline until her passing. Lucy was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed caring for her family and spending time with them. She always had a smile and welcomed everyone to their home. She will be deeply missed. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be held at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd., on Friday, November 30, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Fred Olds officiating, and reception afterward. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Thanks to the caregivers in C Wing who made Mom's days comfortable. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu, donations may be made to the Riverview Foundation in support of Riverview Health Centre. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com
