PATRICIA MARTENS June 24, 1943 - November 30, 2012 It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, Grandma, Wife and friend, Pat Martens after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 50 years, Ron; her children, Janine (Brian), Kelly, Ken, Todd (Cathryn); grandchildren, Jeremy, Hayley, Jill, Beth, Madalyn, Emily, Kayla, Taylor and Philip; Pat's brother Ron (Darlene); as well as Mokie; along with her many dear friends and other family members. Greeting Pat in heaven are her son Jeff; Mom and Dad, Chris and Cory Klassen; and her granddaughters Meghan and Talia. Pat will also be surrounded by all her furry friends whom she loved dearly. Pat stayed at home to raise her five children, all of who were blessed because of it. Mom made a mean grilled cheese!! Pat adored her grandchildren who loved the crocheted blanket and sweaters which she made with love for them. Pat was the love of Ron's life, which she never let him forget. Pat was an awesome cook and Sunday dinners were the highlight of our week. Pat welcomed not only the family, but an assortment of friends and co-workers, who loved the home cooking and the crazy family atmosphere. Our family would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses at CancerCare Manitoba and The Victoria General Hospital for the compassionate care she received. A special heartfelt thank you to Auntie Bev for her endless love and support to us all! A celebration of Pat's life will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pat's memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
