I remember Mr. Smeall (Ogle) from the church I attended as a little girl (Hope Lutheran). He was always very friendly and had a smile for everyone. I remember him offering his place and his hand to help the youth group paint the new nativity scene. I believe he had cut out the pieces of wood that we painted. He did an awesome job. My sincere condolences to Mrs. Smeall (Elsie), Evelyn, Allan and Debbie and all the grandkids and extended family. Dorothy Li (nee Zahn) - Posted by: Dorothy Li (nee Zahn) (friend) on: Jan 06, 2013

We are so sorry to hear of Ogle's passing. Mary and I along with our sons moved to the White Rock area of B.C., after I retired from the Winnipeg Police in 1987. I spent many a shift in all kinds of weather working in a Ft. Garry Police cruiser car with Ogle and we did a hitch together as Detectives. Coincidently, on Dec. 4th, another ex- Ft. Garry Policeman, Norm MacFarlane (my brother-in-law), of Abbotsford, B.C. and I were recalling those Ft. Garry days of yesteryear and we thought about Ogle. Ogle was dedicated to his dear Elsie and was a loving father. I had a chance to see some of his upholstery work and he was a truly skilled artist at that trade. Rest In Peace, old comrade.
