WESLEY R LOEWEN Wesley passed away on December 3, 2012 at Concordia Hospital. Born in Steinbach to Jacob F. and Katherine Loewen in May 1934, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorraine, two sons Travis (Florence) and Gordon (Elda) and six grand-children Nicole, Amy, Jayna, Wendy, Ryan and Joseph. He also leaves behind one brother and four sisters, Henry (Edna) Loewen of Steinbach, Martha (Herb) Penner of Calgary, Annie (Jake) Plett of Calgary, Dora (Frank) Reimer of Edmonton, Elaine (Rudy) Reimer of Calgary. He was predeceased by his sister, Elma, in 1947 and sister Helen, in 2011. Wesley and family moved to Winnipeg from his farm on Twin Creek Road, Steinbach in 1970 and worked at Willmar Windows for 29 years. He retired in 1999 and enjoyed many years camping and travelling. He enjoyed photography, especially weddings, and wood work. He travelled to Brazil to visit his missionary brother on the Amazon River. While there he was robbed of some of his clothes and documents, during a cooling off swim in the black Negro River. He and Lorraine camped in various areas of Manitoba and Ontario. He also loved to sing in church choirs. His friendly disposition gave him many friends who will miss him. Viewing will be held at the Rowandale Baptist Church, 162 Rowendale Ave., in Winnipeg on Friday, December 7 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the chapel prior to the service. The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach on Saturday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Heritage Cemetery in Steinbach.
