Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN ROBINSON (HOOKE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy, on December 4, 2012. She was 63. Predeceased by her mother Anna, and father James, she is survived by her husband Donald, her children Michael (Melissa Corbett) of Nova Scotia, David (Shauna Jessiman) of Winnipeg and Gillian (Brant Harvey) of Winnipeg, her grandson Eric of Nova Scotia, her sisters Jamie (Cliff Davison) of Calgary and Shirley (Ken Hargreaves) of Altona, her sister-in-law Lori (Jim Denbow) of Souris and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kathy grew up in Douglas, Manitoba and attended Brandon University. She studied to become a Registered Nurse and worked for many years at St. Boniface General Hospital and later in her career at the Manitoba Clinic. Kathy had a variety of interests. She loved to travel and spend time at Assiniboine Park. She was a painter, crossword champion, jig-saw puzzle master, professional soccer mom and manager, devout Jets fan and quite possibly the world's greatest lover of dogs, especially schnauzers. Kathy's family hopes that all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives will not grieve so much as remember with a smile the incredible kindness that Kathy brought to this world. A woman who accepted every person exactly as they were, Kathy's care for all those she encountered was a rare gift - but one she so easily shared. That important part of who she was will stay with each of us throughout our lives and for that we are all so grateful. A Memorial Service to celebrate Kathy's life will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. My condolences to the Robinson family. I met Kathy at Manitoba Clinic a few years ago and she was one of my nurses who gave me my infusions for my RA. Kathy was the most kind and compassionate lady that I was happy and privileged to know. She always had a way to make us laugh and smile. I first met Kathy as a study patient at the Manitoba Clinic 8 years ago. Her sense of humour and caring ways always made you feel comfortable. Having chats about looking for a dress for her son's wedding,or being excited to have her daughter Gillian come home from Chicago,it was always a pleasure to see her once a month. Of course we talked about our dogs and laughed about their antics. My husband and I bumped into her at Cancer Care where my husband was having treatment. She was helpful giving us information about what was available. She will be missed by all of us that had her for a wonderful nurse with a smiling face.
