Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) OLYNYK February 13, 1933 December 03, 2012 After a courageous battle with cancer, at 79 years of age, it is with sorrow we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, and friend. Bill was born February 13, 1933, in the R.M. of Rossburn, Manitoba, where he farmed, until he left for the city of Brandon where he lived for a few years, before moving to Winnipeg where he resided for the majority of his life. For many, many years Bill enjoyed his career with McDonald's Canada. Left to mourn his loss and treasure his memory are sisters Martha and Lena, brothers Walter (Heidi), Bert, Nick (Barb), and many nieces and nephews / great-nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents Doris and Matt, sisters Anne and Kaye, brothers John, Mitch and Peter. Bill's love of his family, especially the children was inspiring. The children referred to him as their "candy uncle", instilling wonderful memories in them too. Bill's pastimes were listening to Ukrainian and western music, as well as televised western movies and sports. Bill's favorite indulgence was his love for ice cream. Bill's family is very, very grateful to the wonderful, kind, caring staff at the Middlechurch Personal Care Home. Given his love of children donations, as expressions of sympathy in Bill's memory, can be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 566 Bannatyne Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 0G1. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
