Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN MARIE ADAMS September 14, 1937 - December 8, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Adams announces her sudden passing on December 8, 2012 at her home in Ashern, MB. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children Gary Adams of Thompson, MB, her daughter Kim, son-in-law Gary and granddaughter Kathrynn of Cochrane, AB. She will also be fondly remembered by her sisters Emily (Frank), Pat (Dave), Dorothy (Rudy), Ruth (Herb), Leone (Peiter), Florence and her brother John. Evelyn will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Evelyn was predeceased by her loving husband William (Bill) Adams, her parents Peter and Mary Luchinske, her sister Laura, her mother and father-in-law Vivian and Louie Adams. Evelyn was born in White Beach, MB on September 14, 1937 where she lived with her parents Mary and Peter Luchinski, two sisters and one brother. In 1939 when the war broke out Evelyn and her family moved to Vancouver, BC where her father was stationed. In 1941 her father was transferred to Dundurn and the family lived in Saskatoon, SK until the end of the war. In 1945 they moved back to the homestead in White Beach. By 1949, the family had increased and Evelyn had six sisters and one brother. They moved to Swan River, MB where her last sister was born. Evelyn moved to The Pas, MB where she and her sister worked at the TB Sanitorium. In 1956 the family moved to Cranberry Portage, MB where she lived until meeting and marrying her beloved husband William Adams (Bill). Evelyn and Bill were married in Birch River, MB in 1957. They had their first child, a son, Gary, in Swan River, MB in 1959. They moved to Churchill, MB in 1961 and had their second child, a daughter, Kim in 1962. Evelyn and Bill raised their family in Churchill, MB until Bill became ill and they moved back to Birch River, MB in 1978. Evelyn lost her beloved Bill, soon after their move. Evelyn moved to Selkirk, MB where she worked at the Selkirk Pharmacy until she retired and moved to Ashern, MB in 2007. Evelyn showed her remarkable courage, positive outlook on life and perseverance in her battle with cancer. She remained optimistic and truly grateful for the wonderful care she received by all health care professionals: Dr. Rawoof and all of the nurses at the Ashern Medical Centre; Dr. Maksymiuk, Dr, Ahmed, Tamara and Girlie at the CancerCare Centre in Winnipeg, MB; Dr. Fewer, Michelle and Allison at the Gamma Knife Centre at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB. Evelyn also felt privileged to be supported by her wonderful friends in Ashern, MB especially Bunny and Ester. In honouring Evelyn's wishes her family would like to invite family and friends to a final farewell at the Ashern Legion in Ashern, MB at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012. Please join us for prayer, reflection and an opportunity for a last coffee time with Evelyn.
