DOUGLAS FRANK JOSEPH BRUCE December 16, 1949 - December 9, 2012 It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas at St. Boniface Hospital after a lengthy illness that spanned many years. Through it all he never let his illness define him and he fought with great determination and dignity. Douglas is survived by his wife, Yvonne, his daughters Kim (Bobbie) and Kelly (Dwain), grandson Laine, granddaughter Camryn, his mother Marcelline, all of his brothers and sisters, their spouses and children along with mother-in-law Teresa, brothers and sisters-in-law and their families. He is predeceased by his father Frank, his father-in-law Julien, his nephew Shane and his brother-in-law Gerry. In healthier times Douglas was the ultimate handyman who loved fishing, golfing, reading and spending time with his grandchildren. Always avid to learn new things, he recently fully embraced technology and the art of the iPhone. A funeral service will be held at St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church. Prayer of the rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by mass at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Douglas' name be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. A special thank-you to all the staff on 7A west for giving Douglas the best of care. MACKENZIE FUNERAL CHAPEL STONEWALL (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net

He was always proud to display his Bombardier during the parade and share his knowledge of the commercial fishing trade with the many guests who had the pleasure to ride with him...
